Here are a few protocols and safety measures to ensure the highest degree of compliance:

  • Comprehensive business continuity and disaster recovery SOPs including data center redundancy and physical measures, policies, and procedures to protect a covered entity’s electronic information systems and premises, from natural and environmental hazards, and unauthorized intrusion.
  • Periodic information security audits and compliance with international standards (ISO/IEC 2700) to circumvent data breaches.
  • Designated company systems are allowed to access to confidential information.
  • A dedicated Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) appointed for the purpose of identifying, tracking and responding to security incidents and threats, finding gaps and implementing the changes required to make and circulate the policy.
  • Required Disclosures: Company employees shall use or disclose protected health information as follows:
    • To any patient who requests disclosure of his/her PHI except as otherwise prohibited or limited by 45 C.F.R. 164.524 or 45 C.F.R. 164.528.
    • When required by the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services to investigate the Company’s compliance with HIPAA.
